Re: Weekly Casual Meetup

Once again I find myself in this neck of the woods because reasons. I am considering making a special guest appearance. No autographs. ;)

I'm not decided on what horrific nonsense jank I'll trot out, any requests?

Re: Down With NEH

And that's why they're average NEHers, and not good ones. I completely agree. A lot of the aggro NEH gets I think is people who don't play FA taking it to tournaments in hopes of getting easy wins (moreso that this does work). You can tell when you're playing a NBN FA devotee and those games are us...

Re: Down With NEH

Basically I agree with what Cerberus said. In an ideal world all the major archetypes (FA/Rush/Glacier/MurderDeathKill) will be viable and roughly equal each with an Achilles heel on the runner side. I also agree wholeheartly with the joy of speedier corp decks (at least in a tournament setting) but...

Surely the logo would just be a photoshop of Brendan's face onto Crypsis, glaring down at his latest Reading conquest.

Quetzal & The Four Legged Space Whale

So next up from Eldritch Deckbuilding I've come up with this, this, thing. I'm not sure why it exists but it does and I've been having what I assume is fun with it (obligatory "Whale of a time" pun here). So a quick bit of history before we dive right in and try to comprehend the nonsense....

Re: The Red Troll's Wild Ride

When Knight's your breaker the cultery poses the problem of also killing the Knight. A hosted Knight is normally enough of a death sentence for ICE as is anyway. I agree with swapping Inject out for IHW, but then I've never been a fan of Inject. Either you want draw and it trashes everything (which ...

Re: The Red Troll's Wild Ride

Traditionally I like to keep a set of 1 off Medium/Nerve Agent/Imp because it means you can happily shunt pressure around if the corp can't respond. From your list Seb I'd be tempted to say switch out Day Job and an Armitage for the set (or you know, 3 Liberated Accounts).

Re: The Red Troll's Wild Ride

I've been playing this tonight on octgn and it's super fun. It really feels like I'm playing Reina when I'm playing it too, partly because of deep red + caissa fun times. Data folding worked great for me and was very happy to see it early game. I tried day job instead of sure gamble which also felt...

Re: Stupid Deck Ideas

The closest I've ever come to a real fast advance deck. Also I just wanted to muck about with Checkpoint. It's won a couple of games weirdly. Re: The Red Troll's Wild Ride

Red Troll had Dyson for a long time but Deep Red's not in there for the memory but the ability. Caissa is so much better with DR on the field. Dyson would give extra memory for data folding though...

Re: The Red Troll's Wild Ride

I hadn't considered it and it might be an excellent alternative. My usual thought process though is to aim for a lot a stuff on the board, and with this best case has datasuckers, parasites, D4v1ds, rooks and knights flying all over the place so I'm concerned it might stumble if you reach the mid ga...

The Red Troll's Wild Ride

Anyone who's spoken to me much about Netrunner will know I like Reina perhaps a tad more than is good for me. As such pretty much every datapack that comes out I build a new edition of 'The Red Troll', the Reina deck I've been iterating on since about the time she came out. They don't often change t...

Re: Theorycrafting: cards you'd like to see

Probably, but I'm not certain anymore because I can't think how he fits in with the Underway's theme. Accordingly, the sixty new cards in The Underway (three copies each of twenty different cards) dabble in an eclectic mix of upgrades, assets, and resources, as well as a handful of illicit hardware ...

Re: Theorycrafting: cards you'd like to see

Though if I'm right the known IDs are:

Pack 1: Jinteki - Biotech
Pack 2: Shaper - Hayley
Pack 3: HB - Cybernetics Div
Pack 4: Criminal - ???

So are we shaping up for a double ID pack 6 rather than 1 this cycle?

Re: Order & Chaos

I don't think NAPD is any worse particularly. Valencia is a pain (especially for NEH decks that run NAPD) but not enough of a pain to make NAPD not worth it in the majority of cases.

Re: Theorycrafting: cards you'd like to see

On a slightly different track of theorycrafting, I've been looking through spoilers and cards recently and there's a name that's cropped up in Anarch flavour text a few times recently/in the near future. This name is Princess Space Kitten.

Please let Princess Space Kitten be the SanSan cycle Anarch.

Re: Theorycrafting: cards you'd like to see

I've long harboured hope for an anarch ID with the ability: "The first time you lose [click] each turn gain [click]", just for hilarious Wyldside/HaW/Starlight deck archetypes. Would require me to win worlds though. Other than that mostly more bioroids, 2.0s and some other interesting jank...

Re: Report from York Store Champs - Top 8 lists being posted

In practice I've found it's generally a bad idea to rely on trashing your opponent's programs to the point where they can't replace them. It normally requires such an investment of time and effort as to not be worth it and even then you can't do it without at least a little luck.

Re: Weekly Casual Meetup

Never thought you'd touch Blue Sun again after DarkSphere.

If you're going for maximum jank however. It's got to be Harmony Medtech, Stronger Together or Because We Built It. Take one of those to the tourney and I'll be impressed. Or play PE/Argus, because it's hilarious.
