Re: Reading April Monthly GNK

Hi all. I'm on my way to this buy running late unfortunately. I hope to be there about 11:05. Would I still be able to play? Understand if not. Sorry - tubes in London were mess.

Re: Andy - Please don't play sweepsweek

I like the idea of putting this in Criminal. In theory you should be able to put it all together before Val would be able to. My own possibly harebrained thought on seeing this list is that Fisk Investment Seminar would fit well with the game plan. It accelerates milling both by getting stuff out of...

Re: World's 2015 Predictions

If you do want a silver bullet against the DLR deck, Corporate Town absolutely wrecks it. But it's hard to see how to run that effectively in a deck that isn't Weyland, and we all know that Weyland has problems. Well I will confess to being an unreasonable fan of Corporate Town, especially in an An...

I'm on my way for this but trains are causing me problems. Should be there in plenty of time for 11am but will I still be able to register?

Re: Aug15 London GNK (Dark Sphere, beginners) 1st/13: Knowledge is Power (France is Bacon)

Congrats on taking Argus all the way - a man after my own heart. I'm glad that after scorching you all those months ago at Dark Sphere that you are now doing it to others! We have to uphold our reputation in London for killing all runners who come near.

Re: Revenge Guaranteed, Protection Optional

Haven't tried it against Film Critic. I share the concern that the ID might just be boned. This is my pet hate of the moment actually - barely viable strategies getting hit by the collateral damage from silver bullets introduced to hate on much stronger decks. See also Tennin and Titan Trick of Ligh...

Re: Revenge Guaranteed, Protection Optional

Good suggestions Dan. I'm probably going to try and play test those combos, and also: - 1 Shattered Remains, -2 DRT, + 1 Crisium, + 2 Restructure, And -1 Eli, -1 Ghost Branch, + 1 Snare, + 1 Shadow, Or some combo of all of the above. Going to 3 Ravens would be nice, whether it's better than the 3rd ...

Revenge Guaranteed, Protection Optional

I've been having some success with Argus recently and thought it might be best to get some other peoples thoughts on it. I came 3rd yesterday with it at the Warwick BABW, won a small GNK in London with it a few weeks ago, and had a decent enough showing at the Reading BABW too. At Reading I feel I l...

Re: jinteki.net is....good?

For work related reasons whilst I can often find lots of time to play at odd times of the day or night I find it very hard to reliably make the same time more than one week in a row. I'm much happier trying to schedule games on a week by week basis, but I understand that can lead to things dragging ...

Re: jinteki.net is....good?

I've been playing quite a lot on Jinteki net the last few days. It really is quite seamless - more so than Octgn I find. I'd be interested in a league if that idea is still viable.

I'm around on Octgn for the afternoon if anyone fancies a game. I'm still mucking around with PE though, if that puts anyone off.

Agreed. Mostly because I don't think there is a deck that can't be improved by Snare.

Re: OCTGN Lulz

Personally I don't mind that provided it's along the lines of "Have you thought about X?", or "Y card didn't really help you". It's more about the general character of the discussion though, in that instance. If someone is an overbearing arse I'm not likely to appreciate their ad...

Re: NeoReading Grid casts

Thanks again for your thoughts. Joey played the Valencia game really well and my deck just had no answers to offer. The real crushing blow was when he installed a Same Old Thing and used it to Blackmail a server with Gila Hands in it. There was a bit of cat and mouse going on there as I was using Gi...

Re: Netrunner near London looking for group

There's several groups in London itself, although I don't know if that's any use to you. Lots of people meet at about 5:30pm onwards on Tuesday nights in a coffee shop near London Bridge and then go to one of two pubs nearby when that closes. There's a meetup group for that one with more information...

Re: NeoReading Grid casts

That's true, but in this situation it would have been game for me so still a killer move on the part of my fictional Clot packing opponent. Of course I wouldn't have been able to Biotic out all that stuff either so just generally Clot makes that attempt at a Foundry rush deck even worse than it alre...

Similarly I like the fact that people are debating the merits of my decision to not use a card that in all likelihood I'd forgotten I had installed. But who needs strategy and tactical nous when you can Makers Eye 5 points. Thanks for putting these up Johno. They're the first games of mine online an...

Re: Blood on the Tracks (Clot and the Astrotrain)

I have a suspicion Clot is going to be far less damaging for NEH than it is for other fast advance personally. NEH can overpower or outrun it far more easily than HB, Tennin or Titan can. Like Tim says there are a lot of tools that drastically limit what window the runner has to use Clot. If there i...

Re: Pretty Fed up

Just wanted to say that I've been there and really appreciate the kind of mental funk you're talking about. A few months ago I was feeling the same after coming home from a tournament having gone 2-6, not winning a single runner game. My practice games were also mostly against people much better tha...
