Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

So lynching someone each day is pretty important, and with that in mind I too Vote:Phoenix

Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

OK double's plan is really weird. The flat being that loyalists also have a reason for people to vote being quiet, so how are you planning to distinguish the scum from the loyalists who vote you...

Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

Yeah I'm concerned about Nem's consistency as well. Really out of character. So I totally agree about the need for more talking.I think the most sensible people to vote for are those who others have defended, since scume players would have defenders and we could start to unpick them a bit. I could s...

Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

I think the difference is far less flavor and stuff to go on. I'm just going to role claim now as I'm just a vanilla townie (well, vanilla mafia i suppose). My being vanilla strongly suggests there are others, meaning that we can't catch the mafia out last time by doing a big reveal.

Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

Nem. I like that for you a vote to lynch someone counts as a 'gentle prod'. Apologies for being far too quiet though, busy times. Also, not really sure whats happened to justify a vote for anyone really but posting to say I've read the thread and will consider any arguments made before we just hit s...

Re: Mafia Mafia - Well there's good news and there's bad news - Day 2

Hi all OK this game is moving far too quickly. Agree with people above who say lets not commit to anything until we've taken stock a bit. The two deaths thing is really interesting but agree that there is not much we can really infer at this stage. While its great to hit a scum member so early, its ...

Re: Discworld Mafia - Game Over! The City and sixtyten win!

Hurrah hurrah

What does this teach us about general strategy? We shared a lot more info early on that we often do, but I wonder if that was only so good because everyone had role powers and bad guys had dodgy themes, so we forced them to lie early.

Re: Discworld Mafia - Peace at last - Day Five

I basically agree with this, but note that the flavour kill of Vetenari mentioned he was in a cell which must surely add some weight to my claim to be a jailer who targeted him that night?

Re: Discworld Mafia - All's Well! - Day 4

So I jailed sixtyten. Seems reasonably plausible to me that he was mafia. If cwoac hadn't protected me it would be obviously him. At the very least he needs to get investigated, but to be honest i think he's the best choice for a lynch today.

Re: Discworld Mafia - Patricide - Day 3

Sorry meant to post about this immediately but life intervened. So I'm seriously unsure whats going on as I targeted Cebererus and I was led to believe whoever I jailed couldn't be killed

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Sorry to be brief. Given recent events we definitely need to lynch one of Cerberus or Unitled. As has been said many times, ceberus is a sneaky customer but I agree with Nem that of the two we should go for Unitled. If it fails, we can definitely lynch cerb next time and I'll jail him overnight. I s...

Mendax- could we get your flavour? Might not mean much to you but will to some of us, and we're getting close to having a full cast of characters.

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Yeah but note my neutral role required all the town to die, as does the traditional SK role. Also the victory condition 'you win if the town wins' isn't neutral but town aligned, it literally just IS the town win condition and therefore you'd be town. Presumably it must at least be true that you per...

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Agreed. Being non town aligned but winning when the town wins makes no sense at all. Not really sure what to make of this as it would be a really odd thing to say if Sixty is mafia, since he wasn't under suspicion, but definitely must be something else going on here and we need to know what, otherwi...

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Hi all,

Feels discussion has slightly stalled but aware that lots of you were at a tourney.

I feel like lynching Lord R is the right play, given if he's telling the truth we lose the least valuable member of the city. Sorry old chap.

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Also I really feel we need to investigate Cwoac. I feel like claiming to be the doctor is a bit suspicious given it was the ideal way to protect himself, but I just don't think we can risk lynching the doc.

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

Its obviously not anything like a certainty, and maybe the designers thought it would be funny to have just one vanilla role. But, you must admit it would look rather odd, and also note that the statement 'investigate me tonight' could apply equally well to anyone we consider lynching and to be hone...

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

it is obviously entirely possible that there is precisely one vanilla role, but that would be unlucky for Lord R as it does make him seem dodgy to me.

Whats the case against Just_rob?

Re: Discworld Mafia - Karma sometimes works out - Day 2

A rule that said the mafia win as soon as one person dies would be absurd. This game is hard enough when they have to kill literally everyone, if they could just win with a random kill on night one it would be daft.
