Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Gryffindors Win!
To be clearer - I had considered myself safe due to guys spell, so got a little careless with checking. That the format was used to kill me despite this is a little disappointing personally, but also keeping everyone on their toes and keeping the game interesting is definitely he mark of a good form...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Gryffindors Win!
For sure, I knew I was going to die tomorrow and definitely well done for everyone on working that one out, I was just looking forward to having another night and day to see if I could do something. It was definitely an interesting game - especially when we had to all speak in poetry - so I would de...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Potions
Guy's claims are so obviously ridiculous that I think it's risky to lynch him. Then again, it's also pretty risky to not lynch him. What is undoubtedly true though is that with me safe and Guy risky, finding a third possible candidate is really hard.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Potions
So I was intending to vote for Guy. I now am not so sure what to do. At this point I think any remaining Slytherin would have been best off not killing, at least until I'm dead, since you all seem so focussed on trying to kill me. Additionally, I don't think voting for the only proven liar day 1 is ...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Care of Magical Creatures
Au contraire, I think you'll find That I was never left behind Throughout the lesson I never lessened Efforts to escape the bind We had many spells to use An opportunity we couldn't lose And so I delayed The plans that we laid Until we'd made all our moves I made my intentions clear Elvortel was not...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Care of Magical Creatures
This is a bad thing to see I comitted no evil deed I've been finding the truth Seeking those uncouth I swear that it wasn't me! Last lesson we hexed Elvortel Her face changed as she fell There are those for stood back Whilst we were under attack They deserve a place in hell! Some are too quiet for m...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Charms
Ok, so that leaves us with two decisions: Who to disarm, and who to lynch. I wholeheartedly agree with the current trend against Elvortel - the only reason that I haven't voted is because I want to be sure that we disarm someone first to make full use of the tools that we have available to us. I wou...

Given that this is based around Quidditch, Accio Snitch makes a lot of sense to me.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Charms
There's the triwizard thing, but we don't know about that because it doesn't appear until the next book. I'm not sure it would be that useful in this context anyway, but could be fun to try?

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Charms
So, I guess the question is what inanimate object do we really want to find? I can't recall an object in HP that does anything like check alignment, so I am really unsure. I'd be interested to know what impact the invisibilty cloak has though - that seems the most useful thing that comes to mind.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Charms
Apologies for my rather slow start to this lesson. I would also be interested to hear from Joey as to who he protected - unless we have another protector that we don't know about. I would also be very interested to know what those spells did in this game, as it seems very hard to come to an informed...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
I don't feel strongly that Tol is scum. It does however make sense to lynch him because we will learn a lot from his death. Vote: Tol I feel like our complete lack of anything going on today is at least in part a result of the no-lynch yesterday. I would normally vote for Joey based on his behaviour...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
Even if Elvortel is not scum, he's so quiet right now that he's totally useless as a town member.
If Elvortel comes and participates, I would probably change my vote to Joey, but I'm not so willing to do that yet.

Re: Cheevs :: 2016
I managed to hit my regionals target, but spectacularly missed on the SC ones and I'm so far this year yet to win an event so it looks like I'm heading towards missing that one also.
Still got hopes for nationals though.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
I'm currently voting for Lord R for this reason. Elvortel did at least submit his guess for number of votes, from what Nem said, which is slightly more involvement even if nowhere near enough.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
Voting for the claimed doctor is a bold, bold move. I'm not saying that you're wrong in your analysis, but there is a great deal of risk involved in this line of play.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
I think it's very reasonable to assume that we would have had an investigative role in the setup. Given that no-one is saying the results of any investigation, I think it's very likely that the investigator is now dead. If that's correct, then doctor suddenly becomes much lower value, because we can...

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - Divination
A point I made earlier that seems to have been lost along the way: I'm pretty sure that Bat Bogey Hex doesn't cause paralysis. This would suggest that maybe Hermionie was hit by more than one spell to me.

Re: Hijinks at Hogwarts - History of Magic
I'm not sure it is that simple - it's been a while since i read the books but i don't think that the bat bogey hex caused paralysis.
