Re: Stimhack Invitational on 12/04/15

Yeah sorry Gaz you did say but it slipped my mind. Also Don, the finalist from both the London Store Champs and the Birmingham Store Champs will be playing in the event.

I'll keep this thread updated with the progress of any UK Netrunners I know by OCTGN Username

Re: The Evil Baby's Shocking Puzzle

To be fair this isn't so much of a puzzle as a test to see who understandings how the timing of abilities works. If you're all read up on that stuff the play is fairly obvious

Stimhack Invitational on 12/04/15

For those that don't know Stimhack.com is hosting an OCTGN tournament for Store Champions that takes place tomorrow (12/04/15), with information about the tournament here: http://stimhack.com/stimhack-store-champions-invitational-last-chance-qualifier-fact-sheet/ The reason that I'm posting about it...

Re: Kim - The Anarch Shaper

Is it possible that this works better out of Valencia? Threatening Blackmail gives you more time to set your rig up and the EdKim ability just isn't all that strong right now.

Re: The Scramble for the decks

I've been having success with a HB Rush deck recently. It's been punishing Turn 1 Magnum Opuses and Kati Jones.

Re: Grid Draft Streaming on Tuesday (07/04/15)

Cheers for the comments guys! It was a lot of fun to do and I'm glad you've enjoyed it. The power level of the cube is a little higher than the FFG draft packs and we're constantly tweaking it to get it to a good place. Currently we feel like runner is a little too strong and we're looking for ways ...

I'm also in for this. Steve will Andrew and I be providing the cube or will you be doing it?

Re: The Scramble for the decks

I feel like Jinteki as a faction has had these insane best case scenario trap situations for as long as it's existed, and I don't see the Brewery actually making them viable. I've Had Worse is also a bit of a spanner in the works at the moment.

Re: Grid Draft Streaming on Tuesday (07/04/15)

Also to anyone that does watch the video back (or watched live) feedback in appreciated. We consider it successful enough that we might try to get a regular streaming schedule, something like once a fortnight. Dan D'Argenio, SneakySly and Bblum came to watch and hang out so it was a cool experience.

Re: Grid Draft Streaming on Tuesday (07/04/15)

Cheers to everyone that tuned in the stream was a hell of a lot of fun.

The playback is here: http://www.twitch.tv/xenasis/c/6495516 for anyone that wants to watch it.

As a warning the audio doesn't start until the 7.30 mark because we had some technical difficulties.

Re: Grid Draft Streaming on Tuesday (07/04/15)

The stimhack article mentioned a 'starter' set of cards for both corp and runner - do you also use a starter or assemble a pool of cards purely via the draft? Yeah we use the same starter cards as the ones mentioned in the Stimhack article - 5x Priority Requisition and 2x Private Contracts on the c...

Re: Grid Draft Streaming on Tuesday (07/04/15)

Yeah we're not hugely invested in getting legions of viewers, but we'd still really appreciate people tuning in. Grid drafts also promote a ton of discussion so it'll be more of a hang out and talk about Netrunner kind of stream than a super serious competitive gaming one.

Re: OCTGN Lulz

D4v1d can also make it look like a joke and if the dept itself is not too well protected Femme Fatale and Inside Job can get it done. It can just lock the game out but if the runner doesn't underestimate its power it's pretty tough to lose to in my experience

We probably won't be bringing it tomorrow beacuse its not worth it unless we can guarantee a draft. We still need to put it together

Re: Down With NEH

There is an Exile deck with Aesop's that people have been having success with. The player who finished at the top of Swiss in Leamington Spa was playing Exile and doing well with it. The ID has been winning SC in America too.

Re: 4th April - Birmingham Casual Play

Yeah I'll be there on Saturday, as will Andrew. We'll sort it all out then. The cube can take up to 10, with 8 being optimal. We can do 4 player and 2 player drafts too if there are fewer people.

Re: Down With NEH

My only wish is that I'd like to see more variety of competitive decks in Shaper, and especially for one of the IDs other than Kate to be viable, but it looks like some of the stuff in the new cycle should be addressing just that. My prediction is that non Kate PPVP Shaper gets a bit better once th...

Re: Down With NEH

Yeah I agree. It's an exciting time as far as Runner decks go with multiple archetypes and takes on those archetypes emerging. I expect that the Nationals field will be extremely diverse

Re: Blood on the Tracks (Clot and the Astrotrain)

I was doubtful about how bad things would become for NEH once Clot was printed but good players like Bblum have been testing with it a lot already and they concluded that NEH is unplayable against it, even when it packs Cyberdex. While there are ways to 'limit the window' to use Clot this only comes...

Re: Down With NEH

I'd have said we were now at the point where there are far too many different archetypes our there to possibly judge a faction as a whole. It's easy to envisage a meta where Valencia is terrible but MaxX is pretty great for instance, and sometimes the closest relatives of certain decks are out of t...

Re: The Scramble for the decks

Generally I'm a big fan of versatile Ice and big gates, of which Wormhole is both. My issue with it is that I dislike Ice that requires other Ice to function given that Ice destruction is becoming more prevalent. I've had games where the runner has killed all the end the run ice on the board and mad...

Re: Down With NEH

Yeah that's fair. I've had a decent amount of success with Reg MaxX vs Grail but that's mostly off the back of Kati Jones, which obviously all runners can adopt. I've had more success against Grail with MaxX than I have with Crim personally, but I'm more an Anarch player than anything so that doesn'...

Re: Down With NEH

Yeah I think I get a bit caught up in the argument and accidently ended up implying that Anarchs were clearly the best faction or something, which wasn't what I intended to claim going in. I do think that the results falsify your claim that Presently Criminals and Shaper are very close. Anarch is so...

Re: Down With NEH

Counting it up we have 20 Criminal decks and 22 Anarch ones, so I think it's fair to claim that Anarch is currently having more tournament success. I remember at one point Andy being well over 66% of the tournament results. People still argued she wasn't that good, it was just more people were play...
