Re: 2nd May - Birmingham Cube Draft

I don't believe so no. I'm out at the moment and don't have the cards on me, but its all the stuff that I drafted that didn't make it into my corp deck, so there's unlikely to be anything constructed playable in there.

Re: San San Cycle

Also, this console has competition in a faction that already has two decent consoles with broad synergies (grimoire, vigil). If noise is running this then he isn't running Grimoire. If val is running this then she isn't running Vigil (or Desperado). I guess it slots in most comfortably to RegAss Ma...

Re: San San Cycle

It's power comes from being able to delete agenda abilities and counters, you have an ASPP with a counter, Ill take it out your score area, you scored an early hades shard, I'll stop that BS right there. Again, thats the absolute best case scenario. So im HB rush running all 2 pointers. What exactl...

Not sure if this is the deck for it, but Breaker Bay Grid+The Root are very good in Gagarin.

Re: A Tournament?

For some reason I thought I was posting on this thread rather than the other one! Apologies about that! I think we're probably going to host at Gloucester chaps, it has a manned bar, loads of space, good parking and we know it's avaliable (plus it'll raise money for the charity). Will be able to po...

Re: 54 card corp decks

You're significantly lowering your chances to draw Hedge Fund (and other very good econ cards) early by doing this.

Re: A Tournament?

I was looking at arranging the store championship to be partly at a bar local to the Birmingham store (Waylands Forge). The manager of the bar (The Mockingbird) seemed really keen, and then he never got in touch with me (despite a few emails I sent him). The Mockingbird is a relatively good venue -...

Re: The Emergency Deck

I'd recommend netdecking the best looking version of an archetype you've had some experience with. So if you've played a lot of Crim find a good Leela build for example.

Re: 2nd May - Birmingham Cube Draft

I've always preferred to hang out with more people and have some slight awkwardness with Byes than have a more optimal number that requires people miss out.

Re: Someone explain gear checks to me

Xenasis and I have both failed to draft proper breaker suites in cube drafts before. Having one type of ice be much, much worse for you than the other two is a really exciting way to play Netrunner

Re: UK Regionals

It was fine for me but not stellar. However that's partly because I didn't face as many Katis as expected on the day, which I'm more than happy with given that she's so good against RP

Re: UK Regionals

I'll write a report at some point that goes over my decks. I'd like to note that my Val deck isn't Joey's deck, its something I've been working on since O&C. I did make some modifications based on Joey's list however.

Re: Nationals Set Legality

Delivery problems wouldn't have an effect on tournaments if more TOs did what CJ has done here, with a definite date for announcing set legality being set well in advance. They only announced that Breaker Bay would be legal for Manchester about a week ago, only to realise that it wasn't feasible a f...

Re: Nationals Set Legality

I'm so glad that this is being set well in advance instead of 'whatever is out around the time of the tournament' that's all too common with Netrunner tournaments.

Cheers for doing it this way!

I think the fact that I have to practically go to Scotland to have a tournament where my dreams won't get easily crushed shows how bad the problem is

Re: London regionals

PPVP Kate is very much like the old Andysucker decks in that it'll win if all the pieces come together pretty much regardless, so unless they stumble a bit you either have to keep them off balance somehow or get tricky. I've found HB decks with all 6 (good) campaigns can pull ahead of Kate economica...
