Podcast - Run Last Click

Postby RunLastClick » Thu May 01, 2014 4:28 pm

Hi All,

My friend Eady and I have made a Netrunner podcast called Run Last Click.
http://runlastclick.blogspot.co.uk/
It's been a lot of fun making it and it would be very cool if some of youse could give it a listen.

Also if there are any subjects which you think might make an interesting episode I would love to hear them. Thanks!

Just subscribed thanks to Quins giving it a plug. Good stuff, great to hear things from a UK perspective too. Keep up the good work. I'd imagine London has an unusual meta... It'd be great if you could do some overview of the UK championships as part of the show. I'm always interested in people's ideas for decks too. Your comments about the professor deck in ep.1 seemed amusingly familiar!

I'll give it a listen tonight and then give a plug back if needed on my thoughts. Always welcome new Netrunner podcast!

Great podcast, distracted me from my revision at the very least! ;)

Would love to get London on the forums, let me know if I can setup a board for you chaps!

I've set one up, do you want moderator status for the board or is there someone else who ends up being the main organiser in the region (a big region admittedly!)?

Everyone is so nice here! Are you sure this is on the internet?

@FailSafe If that is the only thing that we achieve by doing the podcast then I'm happy!

@Chimpster Wow, very nice of you! A bit too much responsibility for me I'm afraid. But I'm glad there is a page and look forward to seeing who else is doing London Netrunner thing.

We're horrible in real life though... ;)

Tested Viper tonight and I think its staying in, nothing quite like persuading someone to spend down to 3 credits in front of an NAPD :).

Yup. I love that moment in game when you do that with Viper or Ash

It's a new blooming episode! We have made a deluxe one this time to celebrate the release of Honour and Profit. It's a beast of a thing and it's all HP all the time! You have been warned. Also new intro music by the lovely Ben Jones.

Do you agree with our opinions? Specifically can you swap the name Ken Tenma for September in the song 'September' by Earth, Wind and Fire?

Great timing post gents, I'm just working my way through Corp Draw's review of the set as a send off for final thoughts on my own write up. Time to slot yours neatly in between them!

We return battered and bruised from the London regionals with many a story to tell. Spoilers: Eady does quite well and Chris tries his best. Special guests past Eady and Chris via recording taken on the day. Plus we end on a fluff section about cloning.

Do you like the live recording stuff from the day? If you do we might do more.

Good ep guys, gave it a listen today whilst in the studio and was good to hear the game recaps and thoughts!

What type of content are you looking to run in future episodes? mostly pack reviews? thoughts on factions? meta shaping?

Thank you everyone!

@Flipswitch Yes ;)

No grand plan as of yet. We chat about stuff we would already be talking about in the pub. We do want to talk about cyberpunk books at some point and it's been fun having guests in so expect more of that. Anything you would like to hear?

I wouldn't mind hearing on your guys input on a rundown of each faction (that's a huge topic though, so have fun with that one!). What makes them strong, where they struggle and what sort of things you'd like to see them receive; either as help or thematically to broaden their cardpool. I think Weyland & Anarch in particular struggle in this area as what they do have is fairly limited in scope. I've always thought it to be an interesting topic to mull over, it's something me and my buddy in work talk about when we're out on exercise and it's not something I read about that often.

Book reviews are always welcome! Really recommend Altered Carbon, Snow Crash and Neuromancer (of course) as ones to read. :)

Terminal7 did an excellent rundown of each faction back in January, but I'm always interested to hear other people's opinions. It was nice for you guys to discuss ICE and deck archetypes already. As there's always a stream of new cards coming there will always be useful updates to do.

The Terminal7 run down was very good. If we were to do something like that I'd want to make it different from theirs.

What is the most interesting thing about these faction segments? Is it insight into how they work; is it more about their theme; talk about their best cards or something else? I'm not sure.

Theme is always good, the synergy between factions' own cards and those of other factions is always interesting. I guessing that most of the "interesting" ideas may not be "competitive" but may give people ideas they hadn't come across before. Or trying to learn what faction does what thing best to help your play style...

I've really enjoyed your fluff sections at the end, no one else (that I know of) is doing anything quite like it and the cyberpunk setting and the flavor of the game was one of the big draws that got me into it.

In this episode we discuss how our new decks are treating us. In the second half Eady talks about the latest Netrunner book he has read, Golem. Then we both delve into cyberpunk books we have both read and enjoyed. If you don't like books, stay clear of this one.

Any cyberpunk books we missed that you lot like? Let us know.
