I've played a couple of games with it so far, and won 1. The other I game-dayed for 16 cards though, so I'm claiming that as a win also.

Woop, new episode! I agree with Quinns' caution that we should value the friendliness and openness of our community and we should work hard to preserve that character as time goes on. Although I love the uber competetive scene, I want variety - plenty of fun tournies, drafts, places where you don't feel under pressure to 'make no mistakes' and 'play top tier decks' all the time. I really liked draft and I feel like that might be the answer but what to include in the cube itself is tricky. Some kind of restriction in deckbuilding or in folks who can play seems important. What strategies do we think works well to do this sort of thing?

I'd be interested in what folks think about the best way of making sure new people are welcome in the community and we don't become MTG 'get dqed for minor mistakes', scowl sullenly at all opponents style hobby. I'm with Quinns, the day that happens is the day I leave netrunner.
The onesie was a legitimate tactical decision.

The more serious discussion part of this one was very interesting and the suggestions and points made were all very valid. The feeling I got was that no-one on the show wanted to DQ anyone ever. Which sounds flippant but it isn't, as all examples cited were about mistakes so it's a good thing. Now, if honest mistakes remain our biggest problem, I don't see the need to bring in hard and fast rules about DQing people. I can only see this agenda pushed if there is an influx of uber-competitive (i.e. sociopathic) players and/or cheaters. Neither of which is a problem currently. Quinns has previously talked on Twitter about how he doesn't want the game to go down the MtG route of cash prizes as that would change the feel/atmosphere of the community, and for me the same point holds true about this issue. Whilst we essentially play for fun and big mouse mats, there's little prerogative to start being a massive wanker about slip-ups during play.

The case of someone shuffling their heap into their stack in error (following a Clone Chip was it?) is a tough one, though I'd be interested to hear what the player who fucked up said in that situation. Were it me, I'd offer to forfeit the game (not to say that this person didn't) though I wouldn't be surprised if my opponent offered me some kind of compromise (as seems to have happened here). I don't feel a proper judge system is necessary, but instead simply an open discussion about any errors between the 'judge'/TO and the players. If we see a massive influx of dickheads trying to exploit this system, either by deliberately cheating or being massive wanks otherwise then yeah, let's reconsider at that point.
