I'd prefer something a bit more stylised. I like this one:

And let's not forget there's an "A" in ReadOx if we're getting stuff printed!

For instance, random initial proof of concept:

I could see that on a black tee (or a mat?) with different names on the back, for instance?

Matts would be amazing! Rip off of these but with the "Read Ox" in the middle

4 matching playmats makes the fact that we aren't doing the team vs team for at even more of a pity. Would look awesome to have all 4 lined up.

I must admit the designs Johno has put forward are a LOT cooler than what I have found.

That said, I'm not sure I can pull off "cool"! I'd be happy to try though. Not sure whether playmats or T-shirts would be cooler.

Pete? Thoughts?

Yep, good branding, flat, to the point, eye-catching. +1

Johno wrote:I could see that on a black tee (or a mat?)

I'm up for either. I'm also up for doing both. If we decide to do just one then I have a mild preference for the tee.

Johno wrote:... with different names on the back, for instance?

Sure. I have a mild preference for no name on the tee, mainly because my name isn't actually Pete and... ohhh, can't be arsed explaining. If folk want names on tees, it's fine.

MartinP wrote:Need you guys to win it so you can bring it south of the border.

I think most folk on this board and those I meet in person recognize my banter for what it is: bombastic tosh that is hopefully mildly amusing on occasion. There may be teams south of the border that'll win and and bring the tourney south, but even in my wildest fantasies involving Team ReadOx sleeping with a party of sex-crazed Icelandic acrobats the night prior to the tourney and competing in an inspired afterglow of sweat and aching gonads I can't see us winning. I'm going for a good day out with friends runnin' both the nets and my mouth.

Sorry Joey, but I think it best to temper expectations. :D

Johno wrote:I'd also like to set up some kind of group messaging for us to take our SEKRIT TEEM CHATTS to a private channel. Do you all have WhatsApp? (PM me a number if so and I'll make it so)

I do not own or have a phone. I can buy a spiral notebook and scrawl SEKRIT TEEM CHATTS at the top of each page using a black Biro so that we can write messages, tear off the page, and hand them around like that. We can charm the other competitors with our hipster anachronisms. Thoughts?

Thanks Johno, that £5 backhander was money well spent! You enjoy that triple-shot mocha decaf with praline, you're worth it.

I have a soft spot for custom mats. So, mats would be cool, and £20 a piece. I've emailed Patriot Games (pretty much the only sheriff in town for mats, but they're good quality) to see if a "bulk" discount might apply if we want to get four the same. Not confident, but worth asking.

I'm not sure where to go for t-shirts. A speculative Google tells me you're looking at £10-15 a head.

Pete wrote:my name isn't actually Pete and... ohhh, can't be arsed explaining

I always meant to ask you about this. shifty eyes I'll let you in on a secret... my name's not really "Johno" either :P

Pete wrote:I do not own or have a phone

:scream: But what do you look at when you're trying to ignore people?! I'll assume you don't have Facebook either. Looks like good ol' emails for us then.

I'm sorry Pete but I refuse to believe the master of banter won't go down Choo-Chooing all the way to victory :D (My post was half in jest anyway!)

Could just set up a group e-mail for Pete's benefit? Would that work?
