I'll talk to Claire this evening.
Oh that, don't worry about that, it's my negotiating tank.

Before we get carried away with chortling at the RedOx "B" team, let's not forget the performance of the RedOx "A" team at the last InterCity tourney.

Team "A" set the bar so low that the bar for Team "B" is akin to a bar made from lowtanium mined from a low pit in the town of Low-on-Low in Lower Saxony and wielded by a low-hanging man named Lowenbach "Low" Lowerkrantz who lists "playing lowball, painting still life of low-hanging fruit, and long walks listening to the lowing of cows" as his hobbies on Facebook.

The true inheritors of the moniker Team "A" are the puissant heroes from Reading and Oxford heading to Edinburgh in the new year. There are no prizes for guessing what the "A" stands for because I am going to tell you 'cos I am good like that.

Awesome.

Word.

Dan, telling Claire of the affection of your peers has got to carry some weight.

  • Claire, please let Dan come, he is awesome!
  • Claire, please let Dan come, he has great knitwear!
  • Claire, please let Dan come, we will be crushed like clowns without his inspiring leadership.

No worries, and that's a shame. Thanks for confirming one way or the other anyway.

Alas and alack. If I do happen to win a game, I shall do it in your honour!

Remaining maybes are yourself and Dave E I think, but I've heard no more from him. If you want in, it's yours. I'd like to get it finalised this week if possible.

It would also mean the ReadOx team is delightfully balanced between the two metas!

Dan, I will also sing out your catchphrase when I win a game. Er, what is your catchphrase?

Johno wrote:It would also mean the ReadOx team is delightfully balanced between the two metas!

This delightful synchronicity pleases me.

Guy, I'm all up for pressing cash into your mitts if you're up for printing some team tees. I'm not interested enough in team tees to get off my arse and organize some myself, so unless someone else runs with it I'm good to go in my usual tees. (Just sayin' it like it is.)

Let me know when you guys want to start discussing factions etc... probably a bit soon now. But I'm sure if we all rank our options 1-4 then we can run them through an optimisation algorithm :)

Think Johno has already done an algorithm for preferences.

Whoop! Joey's responded to my secret team-only poll :ninja: and I can reveal the factions!

Everyone got at least one of their first choices. It seems we're a pretty compatible group!

Johno: Weyland and Shaper
Pete: NBN and Criminal
Guy: Jinteki and Mini
Joey: HB and Anarch

All aboard the hype-train!

I'd also like to set up some kind of group messaging for us to take our SEKRIT TEEM CHATTS to a private channel. Do you all have WhatsApp? (PM me a number if so and I'll make it so)

Jinteki and Mini faction? CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I do have WHATSAPP but find it irksome - are there any alternatives people will consider? Facebook group/Google group?

If there is general dislike for these from anyone I'll work through my Whatsapp issues.

Personally I find WhatsApp to be a pretty minor step away from using texts on my phone, so find it good for group messaging. Facebook is fine by me also, since they're basically the same.

Just felt it would be good to have a more accessible way to contact each other, especially as the day approaches!

Oh yeah on the day that'd be necessary/grand/excellent. I just meant for long term planning I tend to forget to look at my phone and/or connect it to the internet quite a lot so I miss things!

Anarch HB for the win!!... I could just take the world champ winning decks?!... Had a Harmony Medtech 6 agenda glacier just in case as well... Got to bring the A-decks for this one :p... Think we need a south of england alliance to make sure that we dont have to go so far up north for the next one!

its a pity Seamus is so against changing the format to the that of the king of servers. I think the idea of sitting as a team seems much better than splitting into 4 pods and playing 4 different swiss tournements apart from each other, but hey ho. We will have to win so that we can choose the rules next time.

Agree we should go fairly competitive. Looks like I'll be either my good-old stealth Hayley or I could just get as much PPVP Kate practice in and take that. Weyland, I'll either go Supermodernism or possibly Titan rush.
