I didn't think I would be able to make this, but now it looks like I probably can.

Also, just thought I should clarify the rewards for bringing interesting decks. Before the final (likely fifth) round of Swiss, players will be asked to nominate the opponents who had the most "interesting" (read: janky) decks. They didn't necessarily need to pull it off, but if they genuinely tried to build outside the box, they should be commended. These interesting decks will get some free wins to boost them up the rankings!

It's likely that if you want to win it all you'll have to not only do well but also pull off something a little bit different...

Given the vast amount of interest for this tournament, do you think we need to buy tickets in advance?

Nah. Given the format, it's expected that there'd be more interest on the forum. Don't forget: people HAVE to comment if they want to come. In theory we have an upper maximum of the people listed in the first post so we should be good.

So, with 30 players we probably should think a bit. Don't think we should do any DE, and it's not within the spirit of the event, but we should strongly consider 6 rounds of swiss I think.

Will probably stretch to 6 rounds if we break 32 on the day, not really interested in double elimination for the same reasons as you. Since there are doubtless a few who speculatively registered in case they could make it (since they would need IDs in that case) I wouldn't be surprised if a few people pull out and the turnout is "only" in the high 20s anyway. Still a great turnout obviously!

Yeah I'd also be surprised if everyone turned up, I think most tournaments, even where you have to prebuy the tickets there are always noshows for one reason or another.

Also what happens if an Aldershot person wins? do we get to steal the bell? ;)

Lol, we will see about that. Although the fact that two of us got stuck with BWBI does make me suspicious about the fairness of this ;)
