The NeoReading Grid League: Season Four

After a LENGTHY hiatus, you better goddamn believe it's time for...

The NeoReading Grid League: Season Four
October 5th to November 29th

Rules:
- Each week you can only play each opponent once. Play both Corp and Runner and submit the results. Both parties must agree that it's a league match before they start. You get two points for a win for a total of four if you win both sides. Additionally, your first four games (not matches!) each week earn you a participation point regardless of result.
- Once the week is finished, everything resets for the next week, so you can play the same opponents again and get participation points again.
- Additional points can be earned for achievements, which are worth one, two or three points. You can only earn each achievement once over the course of the season.
- Highest points total wins! Ties are broken first by fewest games played, then highest strength of schedule.
- For simplicity's sake: only games played on league nights (every Tuesday at Eclectic) will be eligible.
- New cards will be legal for the first full week after they're released (but not legal during the week in which they are released). Look for announcements clarifying legal dates. Initially only cards up to end of the SanSan Cycle will be legal.

Achievements (subject to some tweaking or rewording if necessary prior to the start):
Runner:
Bronze (1 point):
Run Broke - Initiate a run with no credits in your pool
Look Before You Leap - Expose or reveal a card and then run on that server in the same turn
Jackpot - Gain 10 or more credits in one turn
Firestarter - Trash three Corp cards in one turn
Me And This Army - Finish your turn with five or more connections installed
Deep Dive - Access five or more different cards from R&D in one turn

Silver (2 points):
Investment Round - Win a game as Laramy Fisk
Hard Where? - Win with no hardware installed
Self Improvement - Win with three different Cybernetics or Genetics installed
Hard Mode: Runner - Win without triggering or using your ID ability
Honour Among Criminals - Win as Criminal without an Account Siphon in your deck

Gold (3 points):
New Challengers Appear - Win as Adam, Apex and Sunny

Corp:
Bronze (1 point):
Reckless - Forfeit an agenda
Three Scoops - Install three pieces of ICE on the same server in one turn
Get What You Pay For - Pay 10 or more credits to rez a piece of ICE
Influence Police - Trash an out-of-faction Runner card
Area Codes - Finish your turn with three different Region upgrades rezzed
Feel the Power - Finish your turn with six or more power counters on one card

Silver (2 points):
Selective Memory - Win a game as Chronos Protocol
Remote Control - Win with eight or more remotes
Small Steps - Win by only scoring 1-point agendas
Hard Mode: Corp - Win without triggering or using your ID ability
Friends Don't Let Friends Astro-train - Win as NBN without an Astroscript Pilot Program in your deck

Gold (3 points):
CAPS LOCK - Win as NEXT Design, GRNDL and SYNC

Clarifications:
- Firestarter includes forcing the Corp to trash cards from centrals (e.g. Noise, Wanton Destruction)
- Deep Dive requires you access different physical cards, even if they're copies (e.g seeing three Hedge Funds is OK). Shuffling R&D (e.g. forcing Jackson) means new cards (even if technically they may not be by chance). The cards must be accessed (i.e. no Indexing or double Keyhole)
- Hard Where? requires no hardware at end of game. If you install some and find a way to trash it, that's fine.
- Self Improvement allows mix-and-match (e.g. two Cybernetics, one Genetics)
- Hard Mode achievements mean that you must play in such a way that your ability is never triggered (e.g. never install a virus as Noise). Some IDs will be all but impossible (e.g. play as Kit without encountering ICE) but it is acceptable to "trigger" the ability as long as it has no effect (e.g. the first thing you install as Kate is always already free). Optional abilities are fine as long as they're always declined (e.g. Blue Sun). If in doubt check with me, these are intentionally weird ones :P
- Reckless requires a card effect that forces you to forfeit an agenda (you can't do it apropos of nothing)
- Get What You Pay For includes optional overpayment (e.g. for Draco)
- Influence Police includes damage from grip
- Remote Control does include the remote that contained the winning agenda even if it was the only card in that remote
- Small Steps must be a victory by agendas, not flatline

A few questions:

* Jackpot: is that gain 10 credits *net*? i.e. does Sure Gamble give you 4 or 9 towards this? If net and I Sure Gamble * 3 (i.e. gaining 12 net) but then spend all my credits on a last click run, does that count? Maybe reword as "end your turn with 10 credits more than you started with"?

* Hard mode:
- is this essentially impossible with certain ids e.g. NEH (unless you can find some way to win without ever creating a remote server), Andromeda, Chaos Theory, Nasir - i.e. you can't just voluntarily treat the text box as blank? e.g. 5 cards for Andromeda.
- Whizzard gets his 3c each turn, but presumably qualifies if he never spends them?
- Ditto Wayland BWBI recurring credit?

But I couldn't forfeit an agenda as I never scored one :p

I PMed my results - would you prefer that or posting on here?

Had fun trying to get the Small Steps achievement (win with 1 pointers) with an iceless Harpsichord deck, but can't see it happening. My deck can win (in fact did win last night against someone not in the league) - but only by flatlining the runner.

I'm wondering if Chronos Protocol might be a better idea, snipe all fracters and AI breakers, and score behind a wall - a-la http://netrunnerdb.com/en/decklist/26049/barrier-bay but with a few more 1 pointers (its already playing 6).

It's a challenge, by far the hardest achievement IMHO.
